Jessica Gough represents ÁT at a conference in the European Parliament in Brussels on “Promoting Independent Living and Participation in Society for People with Disabilities”
Jessica Gough is a Leader with Áiseanna Tacaíochta. On the 6th of March 2019 Jessica represented ÁT at a conference in the European Parliament in Brussels. The conference was focused on the subject of “Promoting Independent Living and Participation in Society for People with Disabilities: Emerging practices from the EU”. It was hosted by MEP Marian Harkin and organised by the European Disability Forum (EDF), the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) and Eurofound.
Jessica made a presentation on the ÁT direct payment model and how it works;
and spoke first-hand about the benefits that the model brings to those who choose to
use it; and ÁT’s ambition for it to be made more widely available.
