Here at Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT), we are excited to have joined HelpFreely.org, a new platform allowing you to raise funds for us while shopping online, at no extra cost to you.

Created with the goal of supporting worthy causes all over the world, HelpFreely.org invites shops and outlets to donate a percentage of what you spend online to up to three of your chosen charities.  It costs you nothing, it’s really simple to get going, and it makes a huge difference to us!

Over 6,000 shops have pledged their support, so there are loads of ways for you to get involved.  Some of those already partnered to the initiative include Groupon, Booking.com, Nike, Lifestyle Sports, Easons, O’Neills, Levi’s, Cadbury, Debenhams, the Great Outdoors and lots more, while some of the largest online shopping outlets – like Ebay and Asos – are also newly signed up.

You’ll find ÁT’s Helpfreely.org page here, and, with just one or two extra clicks in your shopping experience, you can help us to support more people and families with disabilities in Ireland to live with real freedom and choice.

So, how does it work?

Register

There are three simple steps to get going:

  1. Register to Helpfreely.org using your email address or social media log-in
  2. Choose up to three of your favourite causes (including ÁT, of course!)
  3. Sign into your account on the Helpfreely.org website or download the Helpfreely app.

Then, all you need to do is to get busy shopping – and there are two great ways to do it!

Shop

If you choose to download the app, once you visit the website of a partner shop – such as Clarks or Hotels.com – you will get a gentle notification that you can raise funds through your purchases there: simply activate the app, and the donation will be made as soon as you make your purchase.  It’s as easy as that!

If you decide to go with the ‘Shop and Help’ option instead, you can search for the shop you’re looking for or the type of item you’re interested in through the Helpfreely.org website itself.  When you find it, just click on the green ‘Shop and Help’ button to make your purchase.  You can quickly look for all your favourite shops by clicking here.

Share

The contributions you generate are already included in the normal price of whatever you buy, which means you’ll always pay exactly the same as you would do if you weren’t a Helpfreely user.  As a registered user, you also choose what percentages of your donations go to your chosen charities, and these are given automatically, meaning it takes just a couple of extra clicks in your online shopping experience to make a big impact.

You can always track the funds that you’ve raised and see the status of your contribution, and feel safe knowing that both the website and the app are completely free and secure to use.
