Practical information and Health and Safety updates for the Assembly
We hope you’re looking forward to our Assembly event in Athlone on Saturday as much as we are here in the Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT) offices.
Please take some time in advance of the event to read through the following information and Health and Safety updates for the day.
Registration and Information
We will have an Information and Registration desk set up in the Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) Food Court during the initial arrival period between 11am and 12pm. Please register at this desk as you arrive.
Those who have registered online can register at Point A at this desk, while those who haven’t yet registered can check in at Point B. For insurance and safety purposes, we have to ensure that all attendees are registered or checked in on the day.
The Information and Registration team will then move to the entrance of the International Arena as the main programme kicks off at 12pm. Those arriving after this time can register here instead.
All registration areas will be clearly signed, and stewards will be available at all times to direct you to these areas.
Event organisers reserve the right to admission.
Health and Safety Notes
The main programme of the day takes place in the International Arena at the venue. It is important to note that:
- no high-heeled shoes will be permitted on the stadium floor in the Arena; attendees wearing high-heeled shoes will be asked by stewards to remove them.
- no food or drink – other than water – is permitted in the Arena.
Stewards and First Aid
A team of stewards and a First Aid team will be available throughout the venue on the day.
If you have any queries or questions about the venue or the programme, or if you require some support, just look out for the Stewarding Team wearing bright Assembly t-shirts.
For any First Aid needs or health concerns, a team from the Order of Malta will be on-site throughout the event: you can approach them directly or ask our stewards for assistance in reaching them.
Food
A hot lunch will be available in the AIT Food Court between 2pm and 3pm at an average cost of €8 per person.
Tea, coffee and light snacks will also be available for sale throughout the day.
Access
It’s hugely important to us that this event is accessible to all.
The AIT Food Court and the International Arena are both wheelchair accessible, and wheelchair bathrooms are available in both areas of the venue.
Four sign language interpreters are available throughout the day and will be signing throughout the programme.
Unfortunately, due to the scale of the Arena and the layout of the existing speaker system, we learned this week that it is not possible to install a hearing loop system. If you can advise us of any alternatives that would ensure accessibility for you, please let Orlaith know – using the details below – and we will do our utmost to implement it.
Contacts
For general enquiries about the event or the venue on the day, or in the case of an emergency, please contact Orlaith Grehan by calling 086 183 1502.
To get in touch with our stewards, call Aisling Whelan on 086 180 6952.
