We’ve been shortlisted for a Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Award!

We’re extremely happy here at Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT) to learn today that our Director, Martin Naughton, is one of the twenty candidates shortlisted for a Social Entrepreneur Ireland (SEI) Award.

Recognising his work and innovation with ÁT, Martin has been selected as a candidate for an SEI Award under its Impact Programme, which supports social entrepreneurs who have developed effective solutions to particular challenges in society and are working to grow their impact.

€100,000 of funding is available to three Awardees under this programme, coupled with direct support from the SEI team, valued at more than €40,000.  The SEI Awards also include the Elevator Programme, which supports social entrepreneurs in the early stages of their projects.

Next week, Martin will join the 50 candidates across the two programmes at the Social Entrepreneurs Bootcamp in Dublin, pitching his idea – ÁT! – to a panel of judges.  Six Impact candidates will then undergo a further evaluation process over the summer, with the Awards finally being announced in October.

This is a huge and very exciting opportunity for us, and we’re delighted at the recognition of our model and the impact that it’s making for people with disabilities in Ireland.  We want to make independence and equality the reality for everyone, and it means a lot to us to have the chance to share this with others next week.
